What are the benefits of using Wikiloc in Spain?

Initially, I set all my walks on Wikiloc to private. But from here onwards, I will make each route public. My initial reluctance was if something changed along the route, someone could be disappointed (I have been, when following other members' outdated routes). However, I now feel more confident sharing these routes as many have been walked by me multiple times. There was also an element that I didn't like knowing other walking groups were using my routes, especially ones that had been sourced myself and not from other Wikiloc users. But I am not so precious anymore. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! - Anyway regardless of whether you walk with me, our group of walking friends, or alone, the routes I share are routes worth attempting at least. If you love exploring the great outdoors, discovering new trails, and making the most of your walking adventures, then you need to know about Wikiloc. This fantastic app is a go-to resource for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a vast collection of user-generated hiking, cycling, and running routes worldwide. Whether you're looking for a challenging mountain trek or a peaceful countryside stroll, Wikiloc has something for everyone.  (This is NOT a referral-type post, because Wikiloc doesn't have a program for that as yet. Instead, this is simply a write-up from someone who has used it for quite a few years now)

Is Wikiloc easy to use?

Yes! Wikiloc is an easy-to-use platform and App, where walkers can find and share routes with a global community. The app provides GPS tracks, elevation details, and user reviews to help you plan your walk with confidence. One of its best features is its offline navigation, which allows you to follow trails without needing mobile data (I can see that being a lifesaver when exploring remote locations).

Use Wikiloc for safety!

Initially, I started to use Wikiloc for safety. My husband can track me whilst I walk and know exactly where I am and if I have stopped for an extended time. On one walk he Whatsapp'd asking if I was OK as I was walking around a tree..... I was looking for a good place to pee! Is there no privacy?! LOL.

Wikiloc is great to learn new trails

As someone who enjoys organising walking meetups and sharing breathtaking routes, Wikiloc helps me document my walks, keep track of distances, and provide accurate routes for others who want to follow in my footsteps, whether that be with me and my walking friends, or alone. Whether you're an experienced walker or just starting out, following Wikiloc trails can help you discover some truly stunning locations.

Follow my walking routes

If you're looking for scenic routes, hidden gems, and well-planned walking trails, be sure to follow me on Wikiloc. I will now regularly upload routes from my walking meetups and personal hikes, ensuring you get access to carefully curated trails in some of the most stunning locations. Download the app from your mobile store, and go online to WalkTallSpain and start enjoying some fantastic walking routes that I have shared.

"I’ve been using Wikilok to find trails and record trails for distances and future use that I have done myself. I don’t always post them as quite often they are exploring and not always suitable for others to do but my favourite that I have done is The Mine Walk from Los Lobos. I have joined many of Tracey’s walks and record to see where I’ve been and how far so to see these go Public is great, you won’t be disappointed. Check out feedsmysoul.co.uk"

"Thank you for introducing me to the Wikiloc app last year! I used it on a solo walk in the UK and it made me feel much more comfortable. It was great that family could track me during my walk and I could look back at how many miles I had done! :)"
